Undeniably, the Wismec Presa has proven popular with its recent boost for a powerful upgrade, allowing it to fire up to 100 watts this time! It is one of the first devices to come from Wismec, and the Presa began its life as a palm-sized 40 watt VW device. It has a super sleek and unique profile, and was an instant hit for the company, which is one of the reasons why the Presa has seen numerous amounts of upgrades in its recent times. The Wismec Presa 100 watts TC is currently the pinnacle mod in the Wismec line.
This is the only device from Wismec to facilitate a 26650 battery, with an option to make full use of the battery sleeve (which is included) in order to hold in a 18650 battery. Opting for the 18650 cell with the adapter sleeve however, kicks the power down to a still-sizable 75 watts.
Features & Performance
The Wismec Presa offers several new features compared to the older version, such as:
- 100W Maximum Output Power
- Temperature Control System with an Upgradeable Firmware
- Replaceable Cell & Magnetic Back Cover
- Optional VW/Bypass/TC-Ni/TC-Ti/TC-SS316/TCR Mode
- Stainless Steel 510 Spring Loaded Connector
The new Presa’s TCR mode is one of the things that make the device an advanced mod. The TCR mode enables users to adjust the TCR values manually with regards to the different types of wire. This allows users to fine tune the precision of Presa’s TCR’s ability to limit and sense an atomizer coil’s true temperature. This feature is now a part of the feature set of the latest eVic-VTC and the Cuboid, both by Joyetech. Will this impact your decision to buy the Presa? Well, this only really matters in the instance you view yourself as an expert/advanced coil builder with a penchant for fiddling with your mods and RDA’s. In relation to your average vaper, the TCR mode is pretty much one mode that usually is completely ignored so don’t worry too much about fear of complication and complexity.
New Display
The Wismec Presa has seen an awesome transformation with the new look for a 0.96 inch OLED screen which really has adopted a very strong resemblance to the glorious screen of the eVic-VTC and Cuboid devices. The largest section of its display sits under the first line to show the set temperature or wattage setting, depending on what mode the user has currently set it to. Directly under that is the wattage/voltage ad ohms header, which is the actual wattage/voltage and ohms reading. Next up is the PCB and AMP header, where under that is the actual PCB value and amperage value.
PCB- Printer Circuit Board:
The temperature of the Presa 100W TC Printed Circuit Board, is a new information indicator on the display. Interestingly, the temperature configurations of the PCB is relatively consistent with the temperature configurations the user sets in the various TC modes.
Size
The original 40 watts Wismec Presa was just 3.22 inches tall while the newest Presa is just a slightly taller than its previous model at 3.66 inches tall. When it comes to the width, the original was 1.37 inches and the new Presa is 1.81 inches wide. Finally, the thickness of the Presa 40 watts is 0.96 inches, while the new Presa has a thickness of 1.18 inches. Considering it has a larger display and has a compartment for a 26650 battery, the Wismec Presa 100 watts has actually added very little to its overall size.
By pass mode is a feature which is turns the Presa into a straight up mechanical mod. This means that it will dump all the remaining power of the battery into the mod and straight to the atomizer. This mod however, is recommended only for advanced vapers.
User Experience
The 26650 battery was a slight challenge to insert for the first
time. There wasn’t much room in the battery compartment and given a couple of minutes, I was almost convinced that the battery could not fit albeit the compartment was meant for it. It did take me a while to line things up and after my effort and perseverance, the battery did snap into place and I was ready to fire the Wismec Presa up.
I notice that the weight of the 22650 added quite a handful to the Presa. Don’t get me wrong, the Presa on its own is a fairly light device however with the battery placed neatly tucked within, it was almost as heavy as a Joyetech Cuboid which has a dual 18650 set up within. On the plus side, the Presa is designed very nicely to distribute weight evenly throughout the entire mod so it doesn’t really make this whole weight aspect a major drawback.
If you’re a regular vaper, you would know that the performance of a vaporizer does (to an extent) heavily depend on the type and quality of the atomizer. Needless to say, the atomizer used for this review was of high quality so the smoke and vapor was very flavorful, potent and thick. In relation to the functions of the Wismec Presa, all the components did work well including the fire panel when compared to the earlier models of the Presa. The Presa is literally a powerhouse and will work its durability to give you a very noteworthy vaping experience.
With regards to price, the selling price does vary from store to store especially when it comes to the Wismec Presa 100W TC with the INDE Duo atomizer (top notch atomizer for a brilliant vape session), however it does seem to be selling around $40 to $50 for the Presa alone. Taking into consideration the features and specifications, the top value of $50 is a good price for a great mod like this.
Overall
If the WISMEC Presa 100W TC appeals to your sense of design aesthetics, or if you’ve owned an earlier Presa and liked what you had, I would highly recommend checking this one out. In terms of style and design, it is a bona fide Presa mod. There isn’t anything else like it on the market which is nice when you’re rocking down town with your Presa and people can tell the class it holds from afar.
