The Crown Uwell is a sub ohm tank made by a Chinese
company called Uwell. Shenzhen Uwell Technology was founded in 2015, and the Crown Uwell sub ohm tank is their first own made vaping reation. Let’s have a look what the Crown Uwell offers in details below.
Features
The Crown Uwell is one of the lovable tanks which has a top filling system, extremely convenient compared to older tanks which required screwing and unscrewing to refill. It features a 4 ml tank along with a decent range of single and dual coils which provides the tank and wattage range from 10 watts to a whopping 120 watts.
The tank itself is made of out stainless steel, and the coils uses 100% imported organic cotton, another big plus for vapers who love flavours.
The kit for the Crown Uwell contains one tank, one spare quartz glass, 3 coils, a set of spare O-rings, an instruction manual and a warning leaflet.
It costs around $40 USD for this tank.
User Experience & Performance
One thing that I really like is that the Crown Uwell allows users to refill it from the top. This makes it extremely easy to refill, as the top comes off very easily. Unscrewing the bases of other sub ohm tanks is a bit of a fuss, and this tends to cause minor leakings beneath the tanks. This is a great feature to have in a tank, and personally I do not know why more sub ohm tanks do this.
For the flavour and clouds, the flavour was by far the best on the 0.25 ohm dual coil. The flavour on this coil at higher wattages was really fantastic. 85 watts to 95 watts seems to be a nice range to vape at, and I just loved how it produces clouds with massive flavour.
The 0.5 ohm single and 0.5ohm dual coils were both impressive as well, however my favourite was the 0.25 ohm dual coil. I would recommend users getting only the 0.25ohm dual coils for this tank, however this means that users will need a device capable of at least 100 watts, or preferably 150 watts.
A quick tip for users is to let the coils sit after saturating them. This gives time for the cotton to absorb the flavour, and I found that the vapour and taste improved immensely after letting it for a while.
The vapor production is massive on the Crown tank, particularly on the 0.25ohm coil at 100W. It is possibly the one the best quality vapors I have seen to date consider it is a sub ohm tank. If you know your sub ohm tanks then you would probably be thinking that all of them are designed to produce huge amounts of vapor as is however rest assured taking the general make of the sub ohm tank, the Crown tank certainly does provide a very impressive cloud.
In relation to the quality of the build of the Crown sub ohm tank, it is very nicely done with a sturdy and stable finish which pretty much affirms that when you rest this baby in your hands, you know for sure that what you have here is nothing short of a quality product and not some cheap China knock-off.
In terms of ease of assembly, the tank can be easily taken apart and all of the grooves have an awesome screw-on and screw-off functionality which is great for cleaning and maintaining your Crown tank. When assembling and disassembling the Crown tank, there was no leakage (unlike the other sub tanks I have experienced and meddled with). The function for filling your goods at the top works nicely as you can completely avoid having to unscrew the bottom of the tank in order to make a quick refill. As for the drip tip, it has a good width thus making it fit nicely onto the top which rounds up a perfect fit (another emphasis on the absence of any leaking). Overall the entire Crown tank felt very solid and crafted to perfection from stainless steel which again assists in the maintenance and durability of the mod whilst adding to a sleek and smooth design.
As for the coils, they are made of stainless steel with the boast of being 100% food grade and safe. To be honest, I haven’t seen this claim in other sub ohm tanks which is really odd seeing as this seems to be working at an insanely good rate; be sure to expect that your clouds and its flavors are intense and mind blowing!
The Crown tank comes with four different types of coils which is always a nice variation, all of which are imported. My favorite coil is the 1.2 ohm single coil as it allows for a low wattage which enhances the purity in flavor of my vapor clouds. There was no issue of the wick drying up even through using 75% VG e-liquids.
The tank itself is a good size at about 4ml which may not sound like a lot but when you have a first hand look at it, it really does appear to be a lot bigger than what it is. When it comes to air flow (which is super important for maintenance and a quality flavored and tasty vaping session), the air flow system features two holes on both sides of the Crown tank which is a rather similar set up as the SMOK VCT (except for maybe slightly bigger air flow holes). When you turn the air flow dial, be sure to hear a light click which pretty much guarantees that its functioning. If you’re worried about ease of functionality, it’s really easy to twist the dial into whichever position you’d like.
Is It Worth It?
The Crown tank is a definite thumbs up in my opinion – a pleasurable experience with a high easy user experience. You really don’t need too many skills or knowledge on how to work sub ohm tanks to work the Crown tank so even the newbies are more than welcomed to test out the Crown tank and still produce magnificent vapor clouds in result. In terms of capacity, it is pretty decent however the one major drawback for me is how it does drain the battery quite quickly when firing at a high wattage (although if you’re into pure taste and flavor, you probably shouldn’t be smoking as such a high watt anyway)!
