With the recent release of the DNA 200 chipset by Evolv, a variety of box mods began making releases using this high powered temperature control chip. As all these box mods are using the same DNA 200 chip, the deciding factor will be the price, aesthetics, and the battery capacity. The average price for a DNA 200 box mod is around $200 USD, note that it is very expensive as this is the highest quality kind of chip that you can get your hands on! The Vapor Shark DNA200 is one of the most famous box mods, and is also one of the most expensive. It is a simple looking device, yet packs so much power and feature! I will be going through the features of it in detail below!
Features
The Vapor Shark DNA200 is constructed from 6031 aluminium, which is a super lightweight material. This makes the device feels extremely light and easy to carry in the hand or pocket. It undergoes a black anodization process which is layered on the top, and then followed by black paint, and finally a light rubberized coating is used to complete the chassis. This results in a solid block which is extremely solid, durable, and of course, portable!
The Vapor Shark DNA200 is one of the smallest DNA 200 box mods that you can get. Also it has a zip charging function to make sure that charging is done in a flash when plugged into a 2 Amp power source. The DNA 200 is powered by a 3 cell 10 watt hour lipo pack. Escribe is one of the best features of the DNA 200, which is a controlling interface software capable of over 95 customizable options. This means that users can easily dial in their perfect preference! It also allows 8 customizable profiles that allows users to save their settings for a variety of builds!

User Experience
First off, I will start with the build and design of the Vapor Shark DNA 200. The finish of it of course, is much more complex as mentioned above, and the coat is very difficult to scratch, even at the 510 head! Almost all mods tend to scratch at the 510 head as it is where the atomizer is twisted in, resulting in scratches. This however, did not happen on my Vapor Shark DNA 200 which I was very pleased with!
The screen positioning with the Vapor Shark DNA 200 is located at the bottom of the machine. This may seem inconvenient to users who like to look at their screen while building or taking a hit, however it is a minor problem and does not affect the performance whatsoever.
One thing that I really liked is that the size of the Vapor Shark DNA 200 is actually quite small, and is similar to the rDNA-40. The big difference between the two of them is that the DNA 200 packs a whole lot more of power!
I really love the Zip charging feature that the Vapor Shark DNA 200 has. It uses an extremely high speed USB charging system that literally takes only 90 minutes to reach full charge. With the DNA 200 chip, the mod could reach up to 200 watts if desired, while the chip itself prevents overheating and other dangers such as low voltage, low resistance, and a short circuit. Also, it uses a gold plated spring loaded center pin, which makes it highly conductive and flexible to most rebuildable tanks and atomizers!
Temperature control for the DNA 200 is just absolutely perfect. After the preheat pulse, I get very smooth regulation without any issues, and this is a plus for advanced users who love temperature control. Of course, this mod is future proofed as it supports any kind of wires including stainless steel, nickel, titanium, and kanthal wires.
The internals of the Vapor Shark DNA 200 is very clean, unlike other regulated mods. Of course, this is a high end mod, and it is meticulously
assembled. There are no spots of glue, or wires to be seen when the cover is removed.
The vape quality that I experienced with the Vapor Shark DNA 200 is similary to other DNA style devices, which is normal as they are using the same chip. In my opinion, the major difference between the Vapor Shark and the other DNA 200 mods is the size and weight of it. The Vapor Shark DNA 200 is extremely lightweight and small, making it super easy and convenient to carry around, another thing that I liked.
One drawback that I discovered is that the magnetic battery door could be open to a user serviceable battery, but it is not going to be as easy as swapping out an 18650 battery.
Overall
Overall, the Vapor Shark DNA 200 is a very solid and sturdy mod, and is definitely built to last. The coating of it is superb, and does not scratch during the changing of atomizers. The performance is of course over the roof, and it works wonders due to the new DNA 200 chip. I myself prefer higher wattages and the previous DNA’s could only reach up to 40 watts. With 200 watts of power, I can finally try builds as low as 0.2 ohms, and fire it at 100 watts! The build and design of course, is top of the notch. Sleek and clean, this mod looks really premium and high class! The price however, is extremely expensive and this may put users off. Users have to be aware that this mod and chip is not for new or intermediate users! Those with no experience with temperature control or high wattages, this mod is definitely not the one for you. As for the advanced vapers, if you loved the DNA 40, you will definitely like this one!
