HCigar VT200 Review

If you’re into the vape world and are up-to-date, you would know by now that HCigar has received a lot of positive feedback due to its recent developments on chips. Needless to say, the VT200 from the DNA 200 mod range is no different and in fact has outdone itself in that regard. The only challenge buyers will have to face is getting over its looks which I myself am not so fond of. I mean, just look at it. Do you remember the days when walkman, audio recorders, mp3 players ruled the days? Yes, I’m talking back in the 1990s. Well, the VT200 could literally pull off that retro look by looking like any of the mentioned products seeing as it’s got that silver tone to it with a very “square” impression.

Well, not to worry because I’m pretty sure your teachers at school did try to teach you on how to think outside the box (pun totally intended). Alright, so enough dissing about the looks of it, because at the end of the day, I still bought it and here is my review about it.

Firstly, Evolve has been seen to be engaging itself in many business ventures and agreements with Chinese companies which has led to excessive developments on chips. The VT200 is a perfect example of how beneficial this newly formed relationship between Evolve and China has become. Yes, you’re probably thinking well almost everything these days that’s being sold in the market and although this stuff is super common, it isn’t so much of a good impression. Things from China have the general impression of being cheap, not durable, low in quality and it’s mostly due to the cheap labor and overly exerted mass production. Worries aside, the VT200 is vetted through thoroughly by Evolve to ensure that quality is not compromised and that each and every one of its mods deliver up to expectations. Thanks to China, you can surely expect good competitive prices but with the overlooking responsibilities cast upon Evolve, quality is also promised as part and parcel of the VT200.

When looking at the quality of the build, the VT200 has a very good sturdy and solid feel to it through its make of high quality aluminum with a tenacious powder coat finish. Ever since I bought the VT200 up to this very day, I have yet to witness a scratch on my VT200 neither have I seen any signs of the usual wear and tear which has been quite odd seeing as I do put this little guy in my pocket as I move around. Before I forget, it’s a little small fancy trait but the spiral texture on the buttons feel amazing. Overall, the quality of the build is extremely good with no sounds of loose parts rattling. The only minor downside I have is in the racing stripes which run from top to bottom on the sides of the mod which I find to be a rather sharp to the touch. This could have been countered through better polishing but nevertheless it isn’t sharp enough to cut through your skin.

Evolve has however thrown a whole new ball game where its competitors may not be able to meet the standards it has set through its introduction of the evolved chip. This chip literally dominates in the market as there is nothing quite like it. Imagine this, a chip that hits fast and hard with a pow powered by lipo batteries which enhances taste and pleasure. I’m talking how some of my goodies (the very same ones I smoke with other mods) taste so much better on this mod! It’s probably due to the drop in voltage with the kick in speedy power delivery. An added benefit to using lipo batteries is in the lightweight. In terms of software appeal, it doesn’t look so pretty but it definitely delivers a great range of settings (some settings you may not ever touch or use but is still great for days you want to have a little mess around with your mod).

Battery life is simply amazing in the VT200 as it provides me at the very least a 12 hour vaping at a good wattage of 50 to 60 and this is all made possible by the 1300 mAh battery. You won’t have to worry about bringing extra batteries anymore when you bring the VT200 out to play (provided it’s fully charged) and when it comes to charging time, it only takes 3 hours which is definitely worth the wait for more than 12 hours of pleasure.

What’s the Verdict?

VT-200-Box-mod1-1024x717It’s pretty obvious based on all the above, I’m a huge fan of the VT200 and it really is a no brainer when it comes to battery life, performance and, well, performance again. The looks may not be that great however just in case you haven’t heard, they’re trying to bring vintage/retro back into fashion and the VT200 would add a very nice touch to your range of vintage/retro accessories. Also, if you think about it this way, the old school look that could pull the VT200 looking like a sound recorder may be viewed as a great stealth advantage if you ever want to hide it from unwanted eyes! I’m really excited about this mod and can’t wait for other to try it out (aside the looks but it’ll grow on you eventually, I’m sure).
