Joyetech has updated the original eVic VT, and the eVic VTC Mini is the newer version of the VT. The eVic VTC Mini is more compact compared to the original, and in fact if it was for the beautiful OLED screen, it would not look like the VT. The eVic VTC Mini offers the same 60 watts of power and temperature control technology, and has many similarities to the original VT. There are however, quite a few major upgrades and I will be going through all these new features in detail below.
Price
The eVic VTC Mini retails at around $60 USD to $70 USD, a fairly reasonable price tag in my opinion. It is slightly more than the VT, so let us look if the price tag is justified by the new upgrades in the mini version.
Features
The eVic VTC Mini can fire coils down to an ultra low of 0.05 ohms, unlike the VT which could barely support 0.2 ohms. Also, the eVic VTC Mini has an interchangeable battery compartment instead of the triple layer LiPo of the original VT. This means that when the power runs low, users can switch out another fully charged 18650 battery and continue. Joyetech has removed the in built battery from the eVic VTC Mini. The batteries are easily replaceable by sliding on the magnetic battery cover. It is a sleek device, and is offered in the usual black, white, and cyan colour.
It also features a crystal clear OLED screen, and supports the usual titanium, nickel, and kanthal wire. Bypass mode is of course a must in the eVic VTC Mini, seeing as the original VT has it too. This lets users vape it while charging. The original VT had a stainless steel flick knob to control the settings, however this has been replaced with a more conventional plus/minus button directly under the display, with the USB port under the buttons.
Of course, using temperature control on any mod will help to extend battery life and e-liquid consumption. The eVic VTC Mini comes with a eGo One Mega VT tank, and has a large capacity of 4 ml. It supports two different kinds of coil heads (titanium and nickel) which are responsible for the temperature control mode. Airflow control with this tank is really smooth and easy, allowing users to adjust the tightness of their draw. The drip tip is also insulated and reduces heat on the top. User Experience
There are three things that draw me to the eVic VTC Mini, and only one of this is found on the original eVic VT. That one thing is the incredibly clear display. I have yet to see other mods with this kind of quality display, although its just a matter of time. The eVic VTC Mini has a Hi-resolution OLED screen that displays the information in a series of horizontal lines. Out of so many mods, the one that I like the most is in the eVic VTC Mini. While it was manipulated with a flick knob in the original VT, the plus and minus buttons are in charge of controlling all the available settings of the eVic VTC Mini.
The second coolest feature, in my opinion, is its replaceable battery and the magnetic battery cover. The door is easily removed by simply pulling down and away from the cover, as it is supported by well placed magnets. It snaps firmly in place, and stays put with absolutely zero rattles unlike some other mods. The removal of in built batteries from the eVic VTC Mini has some pros and cons to it, whereby some users may find it a hassle to purchase separate batteries. However, unlike the original VT, users can just replace the batteries anytime, and this kind of makes it more convenient in the event the battery runs out.
The third major feature that I really like is the exterior finish. It is not a rubberized paint, nor is it a matte finish or glossy metal. The only way to describe it is that say that it feels really smooth and clean. The weight of the device depends on the atomizer or tank that users are using. It has a solid hefty feel to it, giving users a good feel in their hand.
I have put in more than 80 hours of usage in the eVic VTC Mini, and so far I have not encountered any issues. It always deliver a terrific vape with plenty of power and flavour. 60 watts is definitely enough for casual usage, and I usually use it around 40 watts. It has wonderful battery life, and the finish still looks new despite using it for more than a month. The size of the device is also really nice, and almost halved the size of the original VT.
Overall
In my opinion, the eVic VTC Mini is a wonderful device and with many good upgrades from the original VT. Users who loved the original eVic VT will definitely fall in love with the eVic VTC Mini, as it is a better, upgraded version of it. The finishing looks really nice and clean, and the paint job is just superb as the colour stays on despite massive usage. There is no doubt that this mod works wonders for the price it comes with. Users who love casual vaping, long battery life, and a clean exterior should definitely give this mod a go!
