Snow Wolf Mini Review

Snow Wolf Mini 75wAfter the release of the Snow Wolf, many people were pleased with all aspects of it except one, the size of it. The original Snow Wolf was quite bulky and huge due to the dual batteries that it runs on. Asmodus of course, then released a smaller version of the Snow Wolf, called the Snow Wolf Mini. The Snow Wolf Mini runs up to 75 watts, and is more than enough power for most vapers. The original Snow Wolf already had a very premium look and feel, and the mini is designed in exactly the same way as the original. Let’s find out how it performs and whether it is able to live up to the original Snow Wolf.

Price

The Snow Wolf Mini has very similar dimensions to the Sigelei 75 watts Temp Control mod, and it is not suprising seeing as the two has basically the same chipset. It only costs around $70 USD, slightly different compared to the original Snow Wolf.

Features

The Snow Wolf Mini is powered by a GX75 chip, which controls the wattage, voltage, temperature, and resistance limits. It comes with an OLED screen like most new regulated mods, bright and clear. It also features an adjustable temperature control mode, and is powered by a single 18650 battery (sold separately). Like all usual regulated mods, the Snow Wolf Mini has short circuit protection, low resistance protection, overheating protection and reverse battery protection all of which do come in handy. Very similar to the original Snow Wolf, the battery casing is solid and helps to prevent vented batteries. It can be used with nickl, titanium, or kanthal wires. A full list of the Snow Wolf Mini’s specification can be seen below:

User Experience

Starting off with the looks and design, the Snow Wolf Mini has almost duplicated the finishing touches of the original Snow Wolf. It feels just like the original, premium and clean. As with all single battery mods with high wattages, battery life is always a major concern. However, I am happy to report that Asmodus has done something to the Sigelei chipset, as it has vastly improved battery life. A spare battery is always recommended when going out with a single battery mod, but my SnowSnow Wolf Mini 75w handheld Wolf Mini had lasted me a solid 8 hours before needing a charge. The fit and finish are all nice and tight, the buttons nice and clicky. The display of the Snow Wolf Mini is nice and bright as it is a OLED screen. As the screen is on the front cover of the mod, it feels really good to have the sides of the mod free from a display. I feel that this is part of what gives the Snow Wolf Mini a premium look, whereby almost all other mods have the display on the side. The hand feel is extremely solid and the size is really nice, small and solid. In my opinion, the 510 thread would look so much better centred and would help to solve an issue with some atomizers not sitting flush due to the slightly curved contour of the top. This slight issue will really affect the premium look and feel, as having a gap between your atomizer and mod will feel really uncomfortable. One slight drawback that I have noticed is that this mod hits a little weaker when compared to similar mods with the same setting. This problem however only occurs while using it in high wattages, around the 65 to 75 watts range.

Despite being able to fire low ohm builds, the Snow Wolf Mini doesn’t seem to like them. I have gotten the high heat warnings several times, and the mod gets warm on builds, specifically on builds like 0.17 ohms at 55 watts. For users who like low builds and high power, I would not recommend this mod. It runs perfect with any builds above 0.3 ohms.

Although the Snow Wolf Mini may have some minor drawbacks, it is one sexy mod and would be great for users who like to use a single mod all day long. It has a great look and feel to it, and comes with a reasonable price tag.

Overall

Snow Wolf Mini 75watt colorsOverall, I would rate this mod a solid 7/10. Small insignificant drawbacks like the atomizer not sitting perfect or the high heat warning for low builds are not really big problems, but none the less will affect the overall rating. However, I would say that this mod looks really premium and nice, and users can choose between black or white tinted glass. Users who loved the original Snow Wolf will definitely love this mini version of it, and is definitely more portable and easier to carry around compared to the bulky original Snow Wolf. Definitely give this mod a go if you are interested in looking for something high end yet with a decent price tag and performance.
