Public Vaping Ban Protest May 10th – Central Park, New York

After New York City Council decided to ban public vaping due to having a similar appearance to smoking, public outcry amongst the vaping community was strong. Especially that almost all of them had now become ex-smokers with the help of the new smokeless cigarette devices. Now that the new law has been put into effect this month, an organized vaping even in Central Park is being organized by city residents to protest the public ban.

The vape meet is invited both vapers and supporters alike to voice their opinion on the public ban of electronic cigarette use. However, a main focus of the meeting is to disobey the new regulation, calling it immoral and unjust to ban outdoor vaping. Many of them understand that indoor public vaping may bother many, but the fact that some outdoor public locations are off-premise, really does not sit well with many. The additional ban on selling of e-liquids is also a notable reason for the protest. The meeting has been titled; “Vaping Civil Disobedience Protest” and will be taking place May 10th at 2pm, at The Arsenal in Central Park.

The vape community has decided to take a disobedience stance to send a clear message to New York politicians that they will not support or follow laws for which they find to be unjust, stating that it is moral duty to do so. The civil disobedience protest is expected to be safe and peaceful. Although it is hard to tell how many people will show up, we really hope for a big turnaround to ensure the message is heard loudly. The group will be vaping publicly inside of Central Park and are sure to turn heads.

If you are in the NYC area, we highly suggest you make it and join the massive vaping cloud it will be. Let America know how much electronic cigarettes have done for you. With so many reports surfacing weekly of the unknown dangers of electronic cigarettes, it is sometimes clear who is lobbying behind those studies. Latest reports speak of minimal amounts of formaldehyde, which is found is big amounts when inhaling burning tobacco smoke, which means the formaldehyde found in microscopic amounts in the e-liquid vapor is a far safer choice. We need as many voices as possible for better studies to be conducted and proper regulars put in place that will service the public, not the state.
