Soldiers, both active and veterans, deserve to be helped for all their sacrifices. If you see a veteran, don’t you just wish you can do something for him to repay his valiant deeds? If he is a smoker, you can! Gift him with the opportunity to have a healthier life by kicking the vice through Vape-a-Vet E-cig Program. It is a non-profit organization helping veterans quit the smoking habit.
How it Started
The organization was founded in Phoenix by a smoker, Will Cohen, who, after smoking for 15 years, found the strategy to finally say goodbye to the habit. After trying e-cigarettes, Cohen knew he just needed to share it with his brother who picked up the habit after his basic training.
After he was able to set him up to vape using a starter kit and with the help of Navy retiree David Desrosiers, the idea bulb lit up: why not do it for the veterans? It is like a small thing that they can do for these people who have given up so much of themselves by being a soldier.
Living Up to Its Motto: “Helping Veterans Conquer Smoking”
Cohen and Desrosiers’ goal was not only to unify vapers in Phoenix; they dreamed of harnessing their combined enthusiasm and drive to help the most deserving brave men and women of the nation’s armed forces. They thought that the best gift they can offer them is the gift of a healthier life.
The program is designed to help veterans and their families to battle tobacco habits at no cost to them. Armed Forces vets who want to quit smoking can get starter kits from the project.
How the Project Works
The project makes it easy for beneficiaries to kick the tobacco habit by getting free starter kits to remove the front-end cost attached to the decision to vape. The Vape-a-Vet Project is making it possible for smoking veterans to get these starter kits for free through the generosity of its donors.
It is currently supported by noble vendors such as Bottled Ready to Vape or BRV pledging 100 percent of its profit; it was the first to offer support to this cause. Fusion Vapes is donating 50 percent of their profits, Ace E-juice is giving 10 bottles a month, and Butt Out is sharing part of its income to this worthy cause. The list of those interested to join this noble cause continues to grow by the day.
How Can You Help
The Vape-a-Vet Project has fundraisers who are tasked with looking and accepting donations – from cash to devices and e-liquids. The cash is used to fund monthly vaping meetings and buying of vaping products given away during raffles. If you want to be a sponsor or donor, you can actively support the program by buying e-juice from BRV, or any of its supporters. You can also donate unused vaping devices that you still have in your home or by donating cash.
There are others who are eager to donate, but are not sure how. People interested to help can get ideas how to help by accessing their website: https://vapeavet.org/ . The site outlines the numerous ways for retailers and vapers to help smoking veterans.
Aside from donations, spreading the word about Vape-a-Vet is a good way to help the organization and its beneficiaries and their families. If you are eager to be a part of this cause, but you are not in the position to donate, what about volunteering to do a job for the organization or telling your vaping friends about it?
