Back in April 2014, Mistic announced it would move production back to the US, making them the first company to make the move. The proposed FDA regulations which implement strict quality standards were also factors in the e-cigarette company’s action to relocate production.
Originally, the company would ship the e-liquids it produced in Greenville to china to finalize the production and the assembly of the products. The corporation would then wait for the finished supplies to be shipped to the States. The process cost the company 60-90 days delay of supply.
Now, however, Mistic has moved production to Greenville where it shares space with its partner company Purlium. The challenge that stood against this move was the replacement of the 300 Chinese employees which use to take care of the production and assembling the products. Fortunately, the company was able to replace them by the machines Purlium owns.
The machines assemble Cartomizers automatically thereby eliminating manual errors that could be caused by human labor. Some components like the lithium batteries and other elements will still be imported from China. The assembling process of the e-cigarettes will take place in its Greenville plant
Compartments where the automated filling of bottles and separate rooms purposed for non-nicotine and nicotine mixingwill be some of the features that will complement the new standards of the factory.
The move came with promise of increase in quality. Wiesehan added that the shipping and importing process to and from China depleted the quality of the e-liquids. With the new alterations, Wiesehan says that the company would deliver fresh products to convenience stores in a matter of a week after production.
We waited until production had already moved before testing them, and unfortunately, the results we’re not great. It takes more than ambition and money to make a good ecigarette.
