Today we review another popular brand of dispoasable as we take a look at what SmokeTip has to offer in the way of disposables. Now Smoketip is one of our higher rated brands and but we were still going in to this one with tempered expectations. Smoketip has earned a reputation as one of the more modest e-cig producers and we were somewhat concerned this translated into a shoddier product with the disposables which are generally meant as a cost effective option.
Design & Battery Life:
These e-cigs are designed pretty much as you would expect with the body consisting of the battery with the flavour packets and atomizers stored in the “filter” of the e-cigarette. One feature that we really appreciated about these disposables is that the tip glows green as opposed to the traditional orange. For those of you who like to enjoy vaping in public, either during a show or after a nice meal, you’ll come to realize quickly that an odd glowing tip can make all the difference between a relax vape session and be hassled by security. I particularly like to go to a lot of concerts and in an environment where security is looking for any spot of orange light in the crowd to pick out the smokers; a green tip is distinguishable enough to avoid any unpleasant encounters.
Each of the disposables is rated to last roughly 500 puffs or the equivalent of 50 cigarettes. Given my heavy use I almost never expect a disposable to last as long as advertised and this was no exception. I felt that I must have gotten in the range of 350 or 400 puffs out of these which more or less puts them on par with the larger capacity disposables from their competitors.
Vapor & Flavors:
As has more or less become standard practice with disposables, the options of flavours is very limited. Smoketip currently offers three flavors of disposables; Classic Tobacco, Cowboy, and Menthol. The menthol option if a nice change of pace to the typical flavors and we found the taste to be quite authentic. We found these to be particularly appealing outdoors in nice weather where the quick blasts of mint really are quite refreshing! While the classic tobacco requires no clarification we did want to take a moment to point out the cowboy flavour. Being a former heavy smoker I’m typically quite abusive when vaping but the cowboy flavour really gives the impression of a fuller more satisfying vapor. For all you other former Marlboro Men out there I highly recommend this one as a first step out of the bad habit. The vapor quality is a little lacking when compared to the other starter kits, as can be expected, but were still on par with what we’ve seen from competitors with the exception of the cowboy disposables which offer superior vapor. Each of the disposables is available in either 6 or 16 mg nicotine solutions so you can regulate your intake according to your needs.
Price & Warranty:
Unlike some other brands which offer their disposables in packs of 5 or 10 units Smoketip has their disposables for sale individually. The units are available for $9.95 each and we really appreciated the fact that I wasn’t being forced to buy 5 of a product which I’m not even sure I’ll like. 50 dollars always seemed kind of pricey to me for what is in essence a demo for their more advanced systems. While they’re not included in packs, those of you looking for bulk discounts should know that Smoketip offers a discount of 10 dollars off when buying 5 units at a time essentially making it a buy 4 get 1 free deal.
Conclusion:
Smoketip puts out a decent product which has some substantial upsides. In particular we feel the need to point out the option to buy them as individual units, the fact that the tips glow green, and the surprising cowboy flavour pack which almost had us forgetting we were puffing a disposable. Overall Smoketip provides some great bang for your buck!
